Sand Castle Brownies Mix in a Jar Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup flaked coconut
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Guaranteed baking success starts with measuring flour the RIGHT way. A properly measured cup of flour weighs 4 1/4 ounces. Yes, I still weigh my flour and my 8th grade Home Ec Teacher Mrs. Vorhees would be so proud!

Please follow the steps below when measuring flour by volume.

  1. Fluff up the flour.
  2. Sprinkle the flour into a dry-cup measure (the one that measures exactly 1 cup, 1/4 cup, etc. at the top).
  3. Scrape off the excess with a straight edge, such as a table knife.
